Are you investing in yourself? Well, I hope that you are. We spend so much time on others that we sometimes forget about ourselves. When were the last time that you spent money and/or time on you, to help you grow/develop as a person? No, I’m not talking about pampering yourself, even though that is needed as well, but I’m talking about something that helps you to continue to grow and develop.
Well, I have invested in others and their businesses, and unfortunately did not get a return on my investment. What an expensive (both time and money) lesson to learn, but it also helped me to realize that I needed to start investing in myself, in my goals/dreams. That is exactly what I’m doing at the moment. I am reading more books (not the romance kind), taking whatever free training that is offered that I think would help me reach my goals, looking for a mentor and hopefully soon, hiring a coach, and taking the time to exercise. From research, I see that so many successful people have a coach or mentor, someone with a non-bias opinion that can hold them accountable, and help them reach their full potential/goals, whether that’s in their personal or professional lives. And I do understand that success is defined and is different for each individual.
Investing in oneself doesn’t always have to require money, but it does require time. If you want to be your best self, then you’re going to have to invest in yourself. In this case, it’s okay to be a little selfish. Investing in yourself helps you to continue to develop and grow. So many of us are living way below our full potential, including myself at the moment, which is why I started my journey and investing in myself.
What is next?
Are you ready to start investing in yourself?
Are you already investing in yourself, and how has it made a difference in your life?
